If you’re an undergraduate in Applied Physics, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, General  or Civil engineering, IT, Mathematics and Robotics, Material and Surface Science, Mechanical Engineering  and are looking for a practical training period or a place to complete your final project, you could spend 4 to 12 months at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe.

  • A contract of association from 4 to 12 months.
  • An allowance of 3283 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

Job description for an opened position in Electrical or Electronics Engineering: The role of the technical student will be to perform electrical checks of the motor control optical interfaces (MCOI) assembled by our field-support unit (FSU). He/she will help with the MCOI installation and on-site testing. Part of his job will be as well writing python scripts, which verify in-place the functionality of the MCOI hardware. Such scripts help to quickly identify hardware failures and will be used to diagnose problems with installed MCOI systems. The technical student will help as well with the design and implementation of various analog and digital part of the BSRA amplifier.
